AT THIS TIME, HILLSIDE STABLES DOES NOT OFFER SUMMER CAMP FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
Horsemanship camp is ONLY available for CURRENT HILLSIDE STABLES STUDENTS as part of their regular lesson program.
As a supplement to regular lessons, Hillside Stables is offering a week-long camp for current students to improve their riding, and to also learn about a wide range of topics related to related to riding and caring for horses. During camp, students will ride every day (weather permitting), as well as work with horses during daily unmounted sessions. This camp is designed for students ages 11-13 who are already familiar with Hillside horses and routines.
All campers must:
Be current Hillside Stables students
Be able to safely and competently groom and tack up alone
Be able to safely walk, trot, and steer in a group
Campers Should Wear/Bring:
Comfortable jeans or long pants (no shorts!)
Boots with at least ½” heel
SEI-certified riding helmet (Hillside has a limited number available)
Hat to keep the sun off (for adventures in the pasture, round pen, or outdoor arena)
Snack (No food will be provided)
Mounted Lessons May Include:
Poles, X-Rails, & Barrels
Unmounted Lessons May Include:
Advanced Grooming & Braiding
Saddles & Bridles
Equipment & Horse Care
Ground School & Lunging
Equine Massage & Stretching
