The new 10,000-square foot insulated barn has a steel roof with skylights and ridge vents, and 35 stalls (mostly 10’x12′, with some 10’x10′ stalls and some 12’x12′ stalls). All stalls are fitted with Summit stall mats, a fan, and an open stall-front for ventilation. The building was custom ordered with a 3:12 roof pitch to promote a open and airy feeling with clean concrete hallways. We anticipate adding an office, kitchen, and lounge area in the near future.
The barn also has three tack rooms, a hot/cold wash rack, three grooming stalls with fans, lockers, and lots of lighting. For riding, we have lots of options: a lighted 120’x215′ outdoor arena (fitted with a jump course or obstacle course), a covered arena (with great footing and very cool during the summer!), a 54′ round pen with sand footing (great for warm ups, green/young horses and riders), a cross country course, and trail challenge course in the front pasture, and trails that run throughout the property. We are in the process of adding a full-size (20m X 60m), lighted, grass dressage court near the outdoor arena.
Hillside Stables maintains a very large, very spacious 6-horse head-to-head trailer with tack room, and a truck that can tow it, so students and clients can enjoy “field trips.” We like to take day trips to Shelby Farms, go horse camping, and participate in horse shows. The Big Rig makes this possible.
We also have horse trainers and riding trainers on staff to help you and your horse succeed at whatever the two of you would like to do. Please visit our “Lessons,” “Training,” and “Our People” pages to find out more.
